গুৱাহাটী, ১৬ জানুৱাৰীঃ বিজেপি চৰকাৰে নিৰ্বাচন আয়োগক ব্যৱহাৰ কৰি অসমত ভোট চুৰিৰ কাৰ্যত লিপ্ত হৈছে বুলি গুৰুতৰ অভিযোগ উত্থাপন কৰে অসম প্ৰদেশ কংগ্ৰেছ কমিটিৰ প্ৰাক্তন সভাপতি ভূপেন বৰাই। আজি ৰঙানদীত আয়োজিত এক সংবাদমেলত তেওঁ কয় যে কংগ্ৰেছ দলৰ নেতা তথা লোকসভাত বিৰোধী দলৰ নেতা ৰাহুল গান্ধীয়ে ইতিমধ্যে তথ্য-প্ৰমাণসহ সমগ্ৰ দেশবাসীক এই বিষয়টো অৱগত কৰি আহিছে। সেয়ে অসমৰ জনসাধাৰণে বিষয়টোক লৈ যথেষ্ট সতৰ্কতা অৱলম্বন কৰিছে বুলিও কয় কংগ্ৰেছ নেতাগৰাকীয়ে।
ভূপেন বৰাই কয়, বিহাৰত যি ধৰণে ভোটাৰ তালিকা বিকৃত কৰাৰ ঘটনা সংঘটিত হৈছিল, একেধৰণৰ ঘটনা অসমতো সংঘটিত হ’ব বুলি তেওঁলোকে আগতেই সন্দেহ কৰিছিল। অসমৰ মুখ্যমন্ত্ৰীয়ে পাকে-প্ৰকাৰে এইধৰণৰ এক অভিসন্ধি চলাই থকা কথাটো বিভিন্ন বক্তব্যৰ জৰিয়তে অসমৰ ৰাইজে স্পষ্টভাৱে লক্ষ্য কৰি আহিছে বুলিও তেওঁ মন্তব্য কৰে।
তেওঁ কয় যে ৰঙানদী বিধানসভা সমষ্টিৰ কিছু স্থানীয় ৰাইজৰ সৈতে আলোচনাত বহাৰ সময়তে তেওঁ এটা অত্যন্ত উদ্বেগজনক তথ্য লাভ কৰে। আজি পুৱাই বৈদিক বৈষ্ণৱ মহাসভাৰ ভাগৱত পাঠৰ আৰম্ভণি কাৰ্যসূচীত অংশ লৈ অহাৰ সময়ত ৰাইজে তেওঁক অৱগত কৰে যে ৰঙানদী সমষ্টিত প্ৰায় ১৮৫০টা বৈধ ভোট কাটি পেলাবলৈ এটা ডাঙৰ ষড়যন্ত্ৰ চলিছে।
ভাগৱত পাঠৰ কাৰ্যসূচীৰ পৰা আহি এজন সতীৰ্থৰ ঘৰত বহি তেওঁ ভিন্ন পৰিয়ালৰ নাম কৰ্তন সন্দৰ্ভত তথ্য সংগ্ৰহ কৰে। ভূপেন বৰাই কয়, যিসকল পৰিয়ালৰ নাম কৰ্তন কৰা হৈছে, তেওঁলোকৰ বহুজনক তেওঁ ল’ৰালি কালৰে পৰাই চিনি পায়। সেইসকলৰ ভিতৰত তেওঁৰ সহপাঠী আৰু একেলগে পঢ়া বন্ধুও আছে। সেই লোকসকলে নিজে তেওঁৰ ওচৰলৈ আহি তেওঁলোকৰ ভোট কৰ্তনৰ ষড়যন্ত্ৰ চলিছে বুলি অভিযোগ কৰিছে।
তেওঁ অভিযোগ কৰে যে লখিমপুৰ জিলাৰ যোগান বিভাগৰ এজন কৰ্মচাৰী নৱজ্যোতি বৰুৱাই ৰঙানদী সমষ্টিৰ বিএলঅ’সকললৈ ১৮৫০ জন লোকৰ নাম থকা এখন তালিকা হোৱাটছএপ মেছেজযোগে পঠিয়াইছে। উক্ত মেছেজত ডিচিৰ নিৰ্দেশ মৰ্মে এই তথ্য পঠিওৱা হৈছে বুলি উল্লেখ আছে আৰু কিবা খেলি-মেলি ধৰা পৰিলে ৰেচন কাৰ্ড আৰু ভোটাৰ তালিকাৰ পৰা নাম কাটি পেলাবলৈ কোৱা হৈছে। এই মেছেজৰ এটা স্ক্ৰীণশ্বট তেওঁৰ ওচৰত সংৰক্ষিত আছে বুলিও তেওঁ জানিবলৈ দিয়ে।
ভূপেন বৰাই কয়, ৰেচন কাৰ্ডৰ পৰা নাম কটা মানেই ভোটাৰ তালিকাৰ পৰা নাম কৰ্তনৰ পথ মুকলি কৰা। এই তালিকাত নাম থকা ১৮৫০ জন লোকৰ ভিতৰত ইতিমধ্যে প্ৰায় ৩৫০ জনে তেওঁক যোগাযোগ কৰিছে। তেওঁলোকৰ সকলোৰে ভোটাৰ কাৰ্ড বৈধ আৰু কোনো ধৰণৰ খেলি-মেলি নাই বুলি তেওঁলোকে স্পষ্ট কৰিছে। “আমি ইয়াতে জন্মগ্ৰহণ কৰা মানুহ,” বুলি তেওঁলোকে কৈছে বুলিও ভূপেন বৰাই উল্লেখ কৰে।

তেওঁ বিজেপি চৰকাৰক সকীয়নি প্ৰদান কৰি কয় যে অনাহকত যদি কোনো নাগৰিকক হাৰাশাস্তি কৰা হয় আৰু পৰিস্থিতিয়ে জ্বালামুখী ৰূপ লয়, তেন্তে তেওঁ নীৰৱ হৈ বহি নাথাকে। ভাবুকি, লাঠি-বন্দুক বা গুলীক ভয় নকৰাৰ কথা উল্লেখ কৰি তেওঁ কয়, দেশৰ সংবিধান ৰক্ষা, নাগৰিকৰ স্বাভিমান আৰু সন্মান বচোৱাৰ স্বাৰ্থত তেওঁ সদায় সন্মুখৰ পৰা যুঁজি আহিছে আৰু আগলৈয়ো যুঁজিব।
ভূপেন বৰাই প্ৰশ্ন কৰি কয়, ''এজন যোগান বিভাগৰ কৰ্মচাৰীয়ে কেনেকৈ ১৮৫০ জন লোকৰ নামত বেমেজালি থকা বুলি জানিলে? যদি সঁচাকৈ বেমেজালি আছিল, তেন্তে বিজেপি চৰকাৰৰ ১০ বছৰীয়া শাসনকালত আৰু নিৰ্বাচন আয়োগে ইমান দিনে কি কৰি আছিল? নিৰ্বাচনলৈ মাথোঁ ৬০–৭০ দিন বাকী থকা সময়ত এই বিষয়টো ক’ৰ পৰা ওলাই আহিল?’’

▪️ BJP trying to steal votes in Rangandi by using officials from the Food and Civil Supplies Department
▪️ Congress leader Bhupen Bora warns the Election Commission
Guwahati, January 16: Former President of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee, Bhupen Bora, today leveled serious allegations that the BJP government is indulging in vote theft in Assam by misusing the Election Commission. Addressing a press conference at Rangandi, Bora said that Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, has already informed the people of the country about such practices with facts and evidence. He added that the people of Assam are therefore remaining highly vigilant on the issue.
Bora said that the Congress had earlier apprehended that incidents similar to the manipulation of voter lists witnessed in Bihar could also occur in Assam. He further remarked that through various statements, the Chief Minister of Assam has clearly indicated that such a conspiracy is being deliberately pursued, which the people of the state have been closely observing.
He stated that while interacting with local residents of the Rangandi Assembly constituency, he came across extremely disturbing information. Bora said that while returning after attending the inaugural programme of the Bhagavat Path organised by the Vaidik Vaishnav Mahasabha earlier in the morning, local people informed him that a major conspiracy was underway to delete nearly 1,850 valid votes in the Rangandi constituency.
After returning from the programme, Bora said he sat at a colleague’s residence and gathered detailed information regarding the deletion of names of several families. He added that many of the families whose names are being targeted are known to him since his childhood, including his classmates and friends with whom he studied. These people personally approached him and alleged that a conspiracy was being carried out to delete their votes.
Bora alleged that a Food and Civil Supplies Department employee from Lakhimpur district, Navjyoti Barua, had sent a list containing the names of 1,850 voters to Booth Level Officers (BLOs) of the Rangandi constituency through a WhatsApp message. The message reportedly stated that the list was being forwarded as per the instructions of the Deputy Commissioner and directed that if any discrepancies were found, the names should be deleted from both the ration card records and the electoral rolls. Bora said that he has a screenshot of the message in his possession.
He pointed out that deletion of names from ration cards effectively paves the way for deletion from the voter list as well. Out of the 1,850 people whose names appear on the list, around 350 individuals have already contacted him personally. According to Bora, all of them possess valid voter identity cards and have clearly stated that there is no discrepancy whatsoever. “We are people born here,” they told him, Bora added.
Stating that the matter has been brought to the notice of the Chief Minister and the Election Commission through the press conference, Bora said that in the 2026 Assembly elections, victory or defeat and the final outcome will be decided solely by the people of Assam. The Congress party, he said, has always respected the people’s mandate and will continue to do so. However, any attempt to selectively and conspiratorially delete the votes of 1,850 Assamese and Indian citizens will never be tolerated.
Issuing a stern warning to the BJP government, Bora said that if innocent citizens are harassed unnecessarily and the situation turns volatile, he will not remain silent. Stating that he is not afraid of threats, lathis, bullets or guns, he said that he has always fought, and will continue to fight, from the front to protect the Constitution of the country and to safeguard the dignity and self-respect of citizens.
Raising serious questions, Bora asked how a Food and Civil Supplies Department employee came to know that there were discrepancies in the names of 1,850 voters. If such discrepancies genuinely existed, he questioned what the BJP government and the Election Commission had been doing over the last ten years. He further asked how such an issue suddenly surfaced when only 60–70 days remain before the elections.
At the conclusion of the press conference, Bora demanded the immediate dismissal of the concerned Food and Civil Supplies Department official and sought accountability from the Deputy Commissioner. He cautioned the Chief Minister and the Election Commissioner against treating the matter lightly, stating that it involves questions of people’s lives and livelihoods. Emphasising that public anger is rising, Bora demanded direct intervention by the Election Commission and the Chief Minister in the matter.
